The rest of June...

So it turns out that while a good deal of our summer lent itself to thematic blog posts, I find myself left with a smattering of events to talk about which have nothing more in common than the fact that they happened in June.  So, with no further ado and because I'm already a week behind in reporting on our Farley's trip--I present "The rest of June..."

This girl had her 9 year old well visit. She is 75th percentile for height and weight and is on track in all ways except for eating enough vegetables.
I joined a new running group.  We drink been after our runs, and then talk loudly about all the things.  Hopefully this will be the inspiration I need to get back on my running game.
Another concert!  That's TWO in ONE month!  If I am not careful I might start to be hip or something.
My friend Emma had an extra ticket to see Julianna Hatfield and thought of me.  I am so grateful she did.  We had a lovely time in the sweet, intimate venue.  I really liked the opening band, and even got to meet and chat with the lead singer for a while after the show.

Thinking of concerts, here's my girl again, performing for Youth Sunday.  In addition to readings and a group performance of Rainbow Connection, she sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow in a trio. So much for stage fright, my little one! ;)

A lovely day at Penitentiary Glen.  This spot has been on our lists to visit since last summer, when we had just a few moments to explore the new "Nature Play" area before the evening Star Party.  So we took advantage of a sunny afternoon and Nature-played away.

The kids love building roofs with long sticks.
So many lovely little spots for imaginative play!  We all had a great time and didn't even make it into the actual "Glen" part of the park yet.  Guess this spot is going back on the list to visit again!
By the way, in case you were wondering, Jack is the size of a turkey vulture.
Random picture of our front yard, looking summery. We've had a full house this summer, with lots of week-long boarders coming and going, including one who needed a place to stay on and so moved into our downstairs tiny-bedroom-that-used-to-be-my-office for two extra weeks.  Pretty soon we'll be running a genuine boarding house!
Anniversary dinner at the Greenhouse Tavern.  Thirteen years with the best of the best.  And as a bonus I had TWO handsome dates.  So proud of Jack for trying-- and loving!- the duck confit wings.  He ate REAL food at a REAL restaurant.  My baby is growing up for sure.  Though, this makes dinner out significantly more expensive going forward...

Next up:  Off to Farley's!
