Lake Life Week 1 -- Beauty Abounds

 Moments from July 5-8...

A little resale shopping in Ithaca.

Windy pretty afternoons by the lake.

Even the storms are beautiful here.

As are the rainbows.  We saw this one from the road driving home and went out in the boat as soon as we could, to see it from the lake.  I don't know if you can tell, but that rainbow sure looks like it is ending at Farley's...

My morning routine... a cup of coffee and a snuggle with a spaniel, check Facebook, chat with husband, gaze at lake, then a run.

A rare moment of peace between these two kiddos, brought to you by a combination of the idyllic setting of Lulu's porch, and collaborative Minecrafting....

Isn't it ALWAYS cocktail hour at Farley's?
Apres storm visit to Great Gully...

 Apres-storm calm on the lake...

Lake Life is hard for Spaniels.
But easy for humans!  So much time to sit and chat and read and eat...

So many games of Uno...

...more evening trips to Great Gully, to watch the waterfall change...

Sunset Canoe trips are good for the soul.

A deck rail full of towels is my favorite.
We spent a lot of time visiting our eagles.  I got several solo kayaks in, and saw eagles every time.  Two or three juveniles, one adult, and two herons always around in Eagle Cove.  Its a perfect paddling destination, not too far but enough that you feel like you are *away* from the Point, with an expanse of shallow water perfect for a quick swim at the midpoint.
After several quick visits to our Gully, we finally got in a walk up the stream during our first weekend.
 Magic as always.

Got in a trip to Long Point-- by boat!  Our kiddos always love this playground.  Something about it inspires peace and unity between these two.
Nat had a nice chat with the guards at the Long Point beach, and got a trip down memory lane when he learned that a canoe paddle he'd carved years ago is still hanging in the guard room...

Epic game of Life with cousins and friends...

 Great Gully, again.  Less water.
 Sunset.  They never get old.
