Part Two: Disney Day!

The following picture-heavy post will recount 14 exhausting, exciting hours spent in California Adventure Park and Disneyland.  When you've only got one day you do it all and while we certainly pushed our limits and there were several moments of low blood sugar induced frustration-- there was plenty of magic, too.  We will be forever grateful to Ed and and Angela for guiding us through the day and managing all of the Lightning Lane shenanagins for us.  Ed's joy and love for all things Disney was contagious and wonderful.  I particularly appreciated the careful curation of the different "worlds"- the way the landscaping and architecture and background music shifted seamlessly so that without any sort of jarring transition you were just IN the next place.  The Star Wars "Galaxy's Edge" world was by far our favorite.   It really did feel like we'd left our home planet, with all of the workers in appropriate costumes and all of our favorite characters wandering around.  We had drinks in the cantina and flew the Milennium Falcon and got recruited into the Resistance and it was terrific.  Runner's up were the charming Boardwalk area at California Adventure, the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, and the little parade that went down Main Street, randomly, five minutes after we entered Disneyland, just a random bit of magic to welcome us. So grateful to have gotten a taste of Disney, finally.  I don't know if we will ever go back- it was so so so expensive and so very tiring- but if I had the opportunity to spend just a few hours a day in each of the little "worlds" there, I think I would take it. I'd love a chance to sit and relax and just notice all of the careful details without stressing about getting in enough rides. (There's a reason we buy an annual pass every where we go in Cleveland...!)
