The sun came out for the Solstice in Cleveland. It's like the weather finally got the memo and our city morphed from an "April in Seattle" vibe to something more along the lines of South Carolina in May. We've been finding ourselves talking about "tropical Cleveland" a lot in the second half of June. Best time of year to be in our beautiful town... it just shines!
Nat and I have been taking advantage of the combination of terrific weather and older kids, and heading out just the two of us quite a bit...
A quick jaunt to Rocky River beach (what beach there is, with the lake so high!), just me, my honey, his camera and a pint of Mitchell's coffee ice cream...
... and a few days later, a grand 10 mile bike ride to Voinovich Park and back...
We did bring the kids along to the Solstice Party at Lakewood Park...
... gathering with other sun worshippers to sit on the steps and roll on the grass and watch the sun set on the longest day.
It's strange to think that now the days are getting shorter, when it feels like the season of lingering evenings has just begun...
The weekend continued with more tropical Cleveland....
Date day to Euclid Beach...
... and date night at Riverfest in the Flats.
It's officially summer in Cleveland, and it is grand.
