May Days

Months are fast when you're careening towards the end of a school year...

Much of May was cool and rainy but we managed to get some good times in..

Like sunset on the dog beach...
...and some great soccer games (East Side Kickers finished as Division champs this season! The boys have improved SOO much since fall.)

..and field day for Boulevard (the kids walked to the High School track for "Field Day Olympics")..
Pictured here:  The 3-5th grade classes

 ...and the Boulevard Blast...
There's Jack, being a helper at Hook-a-Prize.  Wasn't it just moments ago that he was waiting in line, eager to catch his own prize?  How has time gone so quickly?
There's always time for crafting on the porch...
 ...and a waterfall visit...
...and pretending to be warrior cats with friends...

Memorial Day won the month, though.  Perfect weather for a parade...

...complete with this 6th grader marching in the Middle School Band (they sounded so great!)

Then home in time to fire up the grill and host a small cookout for 40 in our yard...

 It was perfect.

We entertained everyone with chickens and there was plenty of food and the weather held ALLL day.
Which is good because we had people in our yard til 8:00.  Even managed a smoky little campfire.

A fine holiday indeed.  The sort of day that makes you think summer might really happen...
