Happy Easter!

We had a picture perfect holiday this year, with all the trappings:  too much candy, wonderful food, family, even a bit of sunshine.  Traditions and times are always changing, and this year we missed our usual egg-dyeing with friends, and the Botanical Gardens Egg Hunt-- but we were grateful fro new traditions with our cousins, and the gift of four days off together.

These two were the first ones up on Easter morning.  I swear Winter knew that the big pink bunny was for her, and she was biding her time til she could play with it...
Happiness.
And more happiness...  Our little ones were well and truly spoiled with baskets from Becca and gifts from Lulu and Gram in addition to the treats from E.B....

Forty degree, drippy weather was not going to stop US from hunting eggs before church.

Even if we had to do it in boots.
And winter coats.

A beautiful morning at church, complete with an empty tomb and a great sermon about living the Resurrection.
On the way home we detoured to the Rockefeller Greenhouse, in search of more temperate photo opportunities.

 Which abounded.

This place is such a hidden gem in our city.

Back at home we had a wonderful day of family time.  Our boarder Araceli joined us for the day, along with cousin Steve and his wonderful family.  It was a "just right" houseful and the kids paired off and enjoyed each other immensely.  Gavin and Jack to the basement for gaming, Ivy and Ada to her room, and Brendan and Winter, interspecies besties, ran laps around the house while the adults chatted and enjoyed some IEP and snacks..

After a simply delicious holiday meal (of which I took no photos), we headed  out to the backyard where sunshine and warmth had arrived.  Egg hunting and sun-basking were enjoyed.

 And chickens, too.

It is so very wonderful to have family in town.

To top off the perfect day, a stunning sunset at North Coast Harbor.

Fiery sky and glowing, still water and a few stolen moments with my honey. A chance to reflect on our beautiful holiday and the bounty in our lives.
