Apple Day!

Perfect as always.  Just us, our besties, and the apple trees.  Oh, and crisp fall sunshine with a bit of a chill to the air.  And tailgating with coffee, cocoa, and donuts (complete with a table this year!).

Can't beat it.

What I love best is the simplicity of this tradition.  Really, its just us and some trees.  And the kids-- they just LOVE it.  The joy and excitement of tasting each new apple type.  The running and exploring, the rows of trees a mysterious labyrinth full of hidden treasures....Even my sardonic boy, munching a pumpkin-spice donut hole, stated, "This is just the most fun day."
If only every day could be apple day!
But surely we enjoy it all the more because, like Christmas, it comes but once a year.

At least we have 20 pounds of apples to console us as we wait for next year...

Can you handle how grown up they look in this picture????

We paid them each a quarter to pose for this.  Totally worth it.
