On the hottest Monday of the summer so far we decided to take the dog on a road trip to see some favorite places in the Mansfield area. Aside from completely melting on several occaisions it was a blast, and the dog got to enjoy two of three attractions with no obstacles (whatever, Kingwood Center gardes, who needs you anyways...)
First stop- Ohio State Reformatory. Creepy and heartbreaking as always. A fascinating journey from the Museum-like front rooms into the decay of the cell blocks.
This is one of the "haunted" rooms and I swear I did NOT move the camera when taking the photo....
Then off to Malabar Farm! A very hot and dusty wagon tour...
then our guide took us on a quick unsceduled tour of the Big house because we all begged. Walking through was a way to connect to my dad. He loved this place and Louis Cromwell and I could see the way this place influenced him.
